I can’t believe that am still struggling just to fry plantains. I definitely know how to prepare meals very well, name them! Cooking is one of my favorite hobby. I cook any kind of food, most especially the ones I usually love to eat. Of course you can’t waste your time preparing foods you don’t love to eat, believe me; it will be very hard or difficult for you to prepare food you don’t eat. It’s always exciting to taste or eat the foods you suffered to prepare, if it’s not your favorite; the zeal and excitement while preparing it will certainly disappear.
Well, on the other hand, unless you’re actually into catering, which prompted you to learn how to prepare diverse of foods just for money sake. That’s when you can now prepare those foods you don’t eat just because you know how much you’re gonna make on the long run.
Out of all the foods I know how to prepare, it seems the most difficult one is frying of plantains. Almost all the time I fry plantains, 80% of them always get burnt. At times they will burn beyond that no one will be able to eat it. Even if am there turning and checking it out; there isn’t escape on that. This morning I went ahead to fry some plantains for breakfast, but it turned out to be a charcoal after frying just little out of it. I got so disappointed with that, of which I decided not to go on, instead I looked for something else to eat. I don’t really know how long this will continue. Just to fry common plantains is a huge log on my head.
Do you have any idea of what might be the cause of my failure not to fry better plantains? I need the tips because that’s the only meal that gives me challenges during preparation.
lol I don’t know how you managed to get them like that ๐๐๐ maybe boil them first and let them cool before you fry them, that way you won’t question if they’re done all the way when you fry them

for sure… it’s actually very easy.. make sure the batter is thick enough to coat the plantain. If it’s too runny.. it wont taste that good

Alright, but I don’t use batter to fry plantains, it’s like a fast food for me, so I can’t stay too long just make batter. But thanks a lot. Maybe when I have the time, I will try it out with the batter.

Just in case the plantains are still giving you a hard time , these are some tips that may help: Don’t let the oil get too hot and don’t increase the heat when it seems to take too long to brown. Reducing the heat will also let it soak up the oil. Keep a medium heat throughout. The ripen ones get burnt faster. The colour of the plantain in the oil is always lighter than it actually is out of it.

Wait what the hell happened????
I fried plantain this morning myself coincidentally.
Wow you’re really shit at this๐
Okay the only reason I can think is that you get caught up doing something else. Maybe you were too busy with your phone or was watching the television or something.

Hahahahaha๐๐๐, maybe that’s the reason, but at times I will be there looking at it, sometimes it will look as if it’s not yet ok, but before i knew what was going on, it has gotten burnt.

You’re forgiven๐
If you’re frying plantain anytime again, try to stay with it. Plantain doesn’t take long to fry. Also, turn it at intervals so that the brown goes to each side.
Good luck for future fried plantains.
